Caldecott, Newbery, Coretta Scott King, Pura Belpre and Stonewall Medals were awarded on January 27 by the American Library Association. Two of our favorite school librarians, Heather Brown from Mosby Woods and Kate Clark from Lake Anne Elementary, came by to review the winners, the contenders and some of the truly great books for kids written in 2019. Not only did these amazing ladies talk to our Girl Power! and middle grade reading fans about the winners and some of their own favorites, they also put together a Power Point for your reference. Next time your young reader tells you "they don't know what to read," check out the presentation below for some great (and current) recommendations.
