Author Brian Weisfeld and some of the real-life teen entrepreneurs who inspire the Startup Squad series join us to talk about their experiences in business and writing. Meet Sydney Day Weikart of Sydney Day Design, Madison Davenport from LipBulbs and Reese Schroeder, owner of the stuffed animal upcycle business, Wild and Wacky Pets. These smart and sassy entrepreneurs will share some business advice and discuss their own inspirations for success!
Sydney Day Weikart is the 16-year-old owner of Sydney Day Design. Sydney started her business when she was 13 years old, and she loves graphic design! Sydney designs and sells notepads, stickers, notebooks and more at www.sydneydaydesign.com. Follow her on Instagram at @sydneydaydesign.
Madison Davenport had a unique vision, inspired by beauty, self-expression, and the desire to always stand out and be different, that inspired the 12-year-old to launch LipBulbs, a lip gloss cosmetics line, with five shiny, non-sticky, non-toxic lip glosses in 2019. During the brand's incubation period, Madison fell in love with a set of lightbulb-shaped lip gloss containers, and once the containers were chosen, the name "LipBulbs" came quickly after. As Madison always says, "Shine, be different, and go after your dreams!" Just as light bulbs bring light to your rooms, LipBulbs glosses bring light to your smile! These one-of-a-kind lip glosses illuminate your lips and let your natural beauty shine bright.
Reese Schroeder is the 15-year-old owner of a stuffed animal upcycle business called Wild and Wacky Pets. Reese is the middle child of a Navy family and has called California, Maine, and now Northern Virginia home. She has been homeschooled since 5th grade and has focused her studies and free time on learning more about all kinds of animals. She has been involved in rescuing English Mastiffs, riding horses, fostering endangered piglets (in her bedroom), training and showing a cow named Birdie, and hanging out in her front yard with her bearded dragons. Reese is always ready to work with animals and aspires to be a large animal or exotic vet someday...and she secretly wishes some of her Wild and Wacky Pets would come to life. You can find Reese’s creations at www.wildandwackypets.com and @wildandwackypets on Instagram.
