One of the best books I've ever read. It presents addiction through the eyes of a parent, scientist and addict simultaneously. Sheff's own viewpoints, emotions and opinions are often contradictory - just like those of addicts and their families - forcing a better understanding of what it's like to be plagued by drug addiction...And it's just incredibly well written and interesting.
This book retold the Snow White fairytale in such a creative, unique, and intriguing way! It's based mainly on character growth, so the plot isn't action packed and doesn't move as quickly as other fantasy novels. Although I don't normally read books like that, this was so beautifully written and it bent the stereotypes of the classic princess and stepmother so well that I just couldn't put it down.
