As we move forward, we wanted to make sure you were aware of our ordering, pick-up and delivery policies. Like all businesses, we are trying to maintain a high standard of customer service while doing our best to keep our employees and customers safe. With that in mind, here are a few things to know about how our process works...
When you order from our website, you will see that titles fall into two main categories: Available to Order and On Our Shelves Now. “Available to Order” indicates that WE need to order the book from our warehouse before delivering it to you. We typically receive books at the store within 2-5 days. “On Our Shelves Now,” means just what it says - the book you are looking for is on our shelves and ready to be sold.
We try to get all of your books to you in one order, with a few exceptions. If the majority of the books you’ve ordered are “On Our Shelves,” but one or two need to be ordered, we may split the order and get you the books we have on hand as soon as possible, without waiting for the others to arrive from the warehouse. If you have an immediate need for a title or a special occasion that demands we split the order, just let us know. We can always work these things out!
Bundles take a few extra days. Honestly, we pride ourselves on the quality of our Book Bundles. We put thought into the titles we include, and need some time to gather up the best we have to offer. It won’t take too long, but it will be worth the wait!
Delivery and Shipping:
We deliver books daily, and offer free porch drop-off in Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Great Falls and western Vienna. We can only have one employee in the store filling orders, so our deliveries typically begin in the afternoon. In general, you can expect to receive your books 1-2 days after we fill your order in the store. If you live in a secure apartment building with a concierge, it can be difficult for us to get in after 5:00 pm. You may find your delivery arrives a day later than expected, so we can drop it off in the morning.
Orders are sent out for shipping 1-2 days after being filled. Gift cards and orders over $25 ship for free in the US. Gift cards can also be sent electronically.
Curbside Pick-Up: Text 703-966-2111
We will contact you when your order is ready. We encourage you to stay in the car or at the curb (if you’re walking) when you arrive to pick-up your merchandise. Once you get to the store, send a text with the name on the order to 703-966-2111, and a member of our staff will bring your books out. Feel free to pull up as close to the store as possible. If there’s space along the curb, you're welcome to use it. We’ll be quick!
